Dear Addressed Representatives

I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this. Thanks.

I write this today to urge you to re-examine the motives behind the recent wave of legislation aimed at disrupting and destroying the lives of LGBTQ+ Americans. The overwhelming majority of people that I know who are NOT LGBTQ+ support us and consider themselves to be allies. Why is that not the case with our government? Granted, that is my personal anecdotal experience but it is one you will find echoed amongst the every-day rank and file Americans on both sides of the aisle. Even those who "do not support us" still seem to believe we should have basic human rights as laid out in The Equality Act.

Can we objectively ask ourselves who benefits from bills rooted in hate like TN SB1440? Who stands to gain from the systematic eradication of LGBTQ+ people? And if we ask those questions and find that our leaders stand with them instead of with the people of this nation, what does that leave the American people with?

I urge you to stand up to the hate and discriminatory framework being laid out now by Whoever is putting it forth. We do not care if they are Rep. or Dem. or Radical or a corporation. We will not tolerate hatred and aligning our country with the definition of it in order to deprive people of basic human rights will be a stain on America's heart forever.

We want to trust our government. We want to know that you have our interests at heart because we are here. We are your family members, friends, loved ones, community leaders, and civil servants. We are your children and children's children. We are not going anywhere and we will not be silent.

Thank you.
