I am a liberal minded person. I always have been. I spent my career as a social worker and so I have known many people of different ethnicities, gender identities, races, religions, disabilities, income status, etc. I have loved them all believing that their essence is the same as mine. I was raised a Southern Baptist and will always value my Christian upbringing and especially the teachings of Jesus. However, I moved away from a formal Christian religion and have been studying and practicing the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha for over 20 years. Buddha and Jesus share many of the same teachings. Can you not see that I and people like me are not your enemy? Why are you pushing us away? I am so tired of the hate you spew every day. It's hurtful and destructive. Please stop calling us names and encouraging hate! I wish you well and will continue to follow the teachings of Jesus and Buddha,
