Dear Mr. Faga,

Thank you for contacting me and offering your thoughts regarding the threats to global public health posed by the Trump Administration.

Since his inauguration on January 20, 2025, President Trump and his administration have slashed crucial public health programs, including USAID and other assistance programs worldwide, as well as vital grants and programs through the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) here at home.

The President has also chosen to appoint notable vaccine denier and conspiracy theorist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as his Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Mr. Kennedy is widely known for his doubt of vaccine effectiveness, despite insurmountable evidence to the contrary, and has also peddled unfounded theories about vaccines.

To be clear: vaccines save millions of lives every year. They are a safe and effective public health tool that has allowed us to eradicate hundreds of deadly diseases. Additionally, the theory that vaccines cause autism has been disproven time and time again, yet has continued to be promoted by a select few, including Mr. Kennedy.

These actions are careless, dangerous, and unacceptable. I stand firmly against attempts to discredit life-saving medicine, or harm Americans living with autism or disabilities. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I will use my position and my voice to fight for robust and continued funding for critical programs that support public health, access to healthcare, and disability rights.

Know that I will continue to monitor the public health threats being made by the Trump Administration – keeping your views in mind.

Again, thank you for contacting me about this important issue. I welcome and value your ideas and encourage you to sign up for my newsletter for more information.

            Sincerely,

          Madeleine Dean
          Member of Congress

RFK Jr is unqualified to hold his position. The actions he has initiated since confirmed have been and will be detrimental to the health of all Americans and many people around the world. He should be removed.
