Donald Trump and the Gospel According to Matthew

I just read the Gospel According to Matthew in the King James version, and a lot jumped out at me. I was particularly struck by the teachings of Jesus contained in the Gospel. Here are a few examples.

Blessed are the meek, Jesus said. Is Donald Trump meek?

Forgive your brethren who have trespassed against you seventy times seven, Jesus said. Does Donald Trump ever forgive anyone who he claims has wronged him?

Love your enemies, Jesus said. How does Donald Trump treat his enemies, or those that he considers his enemies?

Love your neighbor as yourself. How does Donald Trump show his love for his neighbors? Tariffs?

When I was hungry, you fed me, Jesus said. Donald Trump cuts off food assistance across the globe.

When I was a stranger, you welcomed me, Jesus said. Donald Trump slams the door shut on immigrants and deports them whenever possible.

When you are smote, turn the other cheek, Jesus said. Donald Trump always hits back, ten times harder.

Jesus condemns adultery. Donald Trump commits adultery.

The list could go on and on. What is clear is that Donald Trump consistently disobeys the teachings of Jesus. But what is most disturbing is what Jesus warned about just before he was crucified. He warned his disciples that many would come who would try to deceive them. Donald Trump is the deceiver-in-chief.

Christians: read your Bible – you are being deceived.
