Please do not vote for this bill! Our country cannot afford trillions more in debt. Also, it is wrong to kick 17 minion people off of their health insurance and you know it. This bill will deeply hurt the people of South Carolina. Do you really want to be remembered for supporting the largest transfer of wealth from the poorest people in this country to the wealthiest?! Do what is right for your country and your state. We are watching.

Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (Public Law 119-21). As Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, I was proud to have had a leading role in passing this legislation. President Trump signed this bill into law on July 4th, 2025.
This bill delivers the largest tax cut in American history, avoiding a $4 trillion tax increase, and eliminates taxes on tips and overtime. These tax reforms will provide much needed certainty for small businesses and financial support to working and middle-class families in South Carolina and across the country. This legislation also delivers historic funding for securing our border and strengthening our military – both extremely important for our national security.
Through the elimination of billions of dollars in waste, fraud, and abuse, this bill achieved one of the largest reductions in federal spending in recent history. By extending tax relief, bolstering our border and military, and providing meaningful fiscal reform, we are setting the nation on a course toward long-term prosperity and security.
As your United States Senator, my primary job is to understand and represent the interests of all South Carolinians. The opportunity to hear from you about the issues confronting our nation is not only essential to representative democracy, but allows me to better serve the people of South Carolina.
