Dear Mr. Giger, Thank you for contacting me regarding the federal budget. I hope that you will continue to share your thoughts and concerns with me. It is an honor to serve you in your office in Congress. As you know, the passage of the budget resolution in March tasked 11 House Committees with adjusting federal spending levels to decrease or increase the deficit in their respective jurisdictions. In May 2025, the US House of Representatives passed H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which I voted in favor of. This comprehensive legislation merges spending recommendations from the 11 Committees to establish the federal budget for Fiscal Year 2025 and set spending levels annually until 2034. In H.R. 1, House Republicans have included numerous, beneficial reforms to cut wasteful spending in the federal government and ensure public benefits programs that many Americans depend on, including Medicaid, Medicare, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Social Security, are working as intended. For example, H.R. 1 strengthens Medicare by implementing much-needed work requirements for those who can and are able to work. Due to the fact that 62% of Medicaid recipients and 74% of SNAP recipients are able-bodied, these programs must be reformed to ensure they fulfill their missions as short-term temporary assistance for those truly in need, rather than a lifetime government handout. H.R. 1 also eliminates waste, fraud, and abuse of federal benefits programs by ending Medicaid for over 1.4 million illegal immigrants. Moreover, H.R. 1 makes permanent President Trump’s historic tax cuts to benefit American workers, families, seniors, and small businesses. With its enactment, employees will see increased wages of up to $11,600 and be able to take home up to $13,300 more of their hard-earned dollars. Additionally, it ends taxes on tips and overtime and codifies the 199A tax deduction for small businesses, creating at least 1 million new jobs and generating over $750 billion dollars of economic growth. Under Republican economic policies, more Americans became prosperous and worried less about living paycheck to paycheck. As your Representative, I support legislation to lower taxes for all Americans, rein in out-of-control federal spending, and tackle our completely unsustainable $37 trillion national debt. It’s estimated H.R. 1 will save more than $1.6 trillion dollars in mandatory spending while cutting taxes for millions of Americans, placing the US on a more fiscally responsible path. Currently, H.R. 1 is under review by the Senate. I look forward to supporting the final version of this budget legislation soon to enact President Trump’s America First agenda and deliver economic relief for all Americans. Again, it’s a privilege to represent you in Washington. If there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to call or email any time. I would love to stay in touch with you through our newsletter. Sign up here to get the latest on what’s happening in Congress and around TX-04: https://fallon.house.gov/forms/emailsignup.

Dear Mr. Giger,

I DO NOT APPROVE of the budget reconciliation bill including language that could devastate our public lands.

250 million acres of public land SHOULD NOT be eligible for sale

2 million acres of Forest Service and BLM land SHOULD NOT be for sale.

This land, that includes hiking trails, campsites, and wild places CANNOT be sold off to the highest bidder.

I urge you strongly to REMOVE this dangerous provision!
