I’m writing as a concerned citizen, a parent, and a professional in the tech industry who is witnessing firsthand the rapid acceleration of artificial intelligence. While I believe AI holds incredible potential for solving complex problems and improving lives, I’m deeply concerned about the lack of coordinated oversight regarding its impact on the American workforce.
Millions of jobs — from administrative roles to creative and service-based work — are now vulnerable to automation. We are on the verge of a shift that could rival the industrial revolution, but seemingly without a clear public strategy to monitor and mitigate its economic and social consequences.
I urge you to take proactive leadership in this moment by advocating for or establishing a task force to:
• Monitor the job market impacts of AI adoption across industries
• Recommend safeguards and retraining pathways for affected workers
• Develop strategies to sustain economic stability and family well-being in a time of accelerated change
We need thoughtful, compassionate planning — not reactive policies after harm has already been done. Without action, we risk mass unemployment, increased inequality, and deep damage to the middle class. With foresight, we can harness AI for good while protecting the people it threatens to displace.
Please don’t wait for crisis to lead. I’m asking you — as a constituent and a parent — to help ensure a future where innovation and human dignity go hand in hand.
