Dear Mr. Brazell, Thank you for taking the time to contact me and share your views about Social Security.  Millions of Americans, including more than 800,000 Oklahomans, rely on Social Security for support in retirement and disability. Since its creation in 1935, this program has acted as a safety net for American workers. Unfortunately, today Social Security’s finances are in trouble. While in 1950, there were approximately 16 workers paying into Social Security for every Social Security beneficiary, today there just over 2 workers paying in for every beneficiary. The 2024 Social Security Trustees Report showed that the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) Trust Fund is on track to be exhausted by 2033, at which time Social Security will only be able to pay 77% of scheduled retirement benefits. As our nation’s demographics continue to shift with the aging of the Baby Boomer generation, it is critical that we act to solve this challenge sooner rather than later. The American people deserve to have full confidence in the future of this important program. As your representative, please know that I will work to ensure that Social Security remains strong for generations to come. Once again, thank you for contacting me to share your views. Your input helps me to more effectively represent the people of Oklahoma, and I look forward to staying in touch. I encourage you to visit my website at www.bice.house.gov and follow me on X, Instagram, and Facebook.

Seniors are hurting badly. They are losing ground to inflation. Homes are being lost, they are going without proper healthcare and medication.

Please help us! Cut SSI taxes to zero!
