Thank you for reaching out to Governor Beshear's office to share your thoughts and concerns. We always welcome your input because we know how important it is that our Commonwealth be the best it can be.

Governor Beshear is not a federal representative and cannot vote on these issues on a federal level. He does however continue to monitor the federal changes taking place and assess how they may affect Kentucky’s families and impact Kentucky’s businesses and industry. These changes are occurring on a federal level. We encourage you to communicate with your representatives in the US Congress. I have included information for Kentucky’s federal delegation. Contact them directly to let your voice be heard by the those representing you!

President Trump:

My name is Addison Hosea, and I live in Lexington, KY, 40515. As your constituent, I’m writing to strongly oppose H.Con.Res.14 and any proposal that includes cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.

These programs are essential to the well-being of millions of Americans, including seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families. Cuts to Medicaid and Medicare would threaten access to health care for the most vulnerable in our communities, and increase food insecurity fot them — including people I know and care about.

With a family member in a skilled nursing facility, I’ve seen firsthand how crucial these services are. Weakening them would not only harm individuals but place more strain on hospitals, caregivers, and local health systems. I've seen reports of 770 skilled nursing facilities across the country close during the previous 4 years. Cutting funds will surely cause more skilled care deserts to appear in low income areas, especially in Kentucky.

I ask my elected officials to please protect Medicare and Medicaid by voting NO on H.Con.Res.14. I urge you to stand up for the health and dignity of your constituents.

Thank you for your time and your service.

**Sincerely,**
Addison Hosea
