I am writing as a constituent and a proud supporter of the Constitution to urge you to take immediate action in support of the Hearing Protection Act and the Stop Harassing Owners of Rifles Today (SHORT) Act. These bills are not optional. They are essential to restoring fundamental rights that have been unjustly restricted by outdated and unconstitutional federal laws.
The National Firearms Act has no business regulating suppressors or barrel lengths. These tools are used by responsible citizens of great moral character for safety and practical self defense. Suppressors protect hearing. Short-barreled rifles help people of all sizes and abilities operate firearms that fit their needs. The idea that these items should be regulated more harshly than actual firearms defies logic and reason.
Let me be clear. These are non negotiable freedoms. The ATF already issues suppressors to its own agents, and the public deserves the same access without bureaucratic red tape. Americans of moral integrity should not be forced to pay a tax or wait months for approval to use what amounts to basic safety equipment.
I am raising my sons to be morally prudent men who respect the law, value liberty, and live according to the founding principles of this nation. It is my duty to speak up when those principles are under attack by federal overreach.
Now is the time to act. Do not waste this historic opportunity to pass real pro Second Amendment reform through reconciliation. Please support the Hearing Protection Act and the SHORT Act. Vote for them. Advocate for them. And make it clear to your colleagues that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
