You and your MAGA cronies want the United States to be known as a christian nation. I do not profess to be much of a Christian, but there are few parables of the Bible attributable to the teachings of Jesus that inform how I TRY (I emphasize "try") to live my life. One of them is in Matthew 25, The Judgment of the Nations. I urge you to read it, though I doubt that you will.
When addressing the righteous who were blessed and who will inherit the Kingdom, he said: "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me." When asked by the righteous, when did we do these things for you, his reply is what commands us as humans, not just as Christians, as to how we should live our lives. "Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me."
Conversely, addressing the accursed who failed to do those things for him, and being asked when did we see you in such conditions, he replied: "Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me."
We are a country blessed with plenty. Our duty to the "least ones" is global. Our poorest citizens are the envy of those who are the "least ones" around the world. As an American who was proud of the humanitarian assistance we provided to those "least ones" throughout the world, I am now ashamed of what you, Trump, DOGE, and your MAGA lemmings have done to USAID programs. Shame on you all. Perhaps you will find out whether Jesus was right; that maybe you will join the "accursed" who "will go off to eternal punishment." By your conduct, you will deserve it.
